We commend to you Christopher Goodman. He was a colleague of John Knox. He wrote this treatise on the doctrine of the lesser magistrates in 1558 – the same year as Knox’s Appellation to the Nobles of Scotland. Goodman understood that the interposition of the lesser magistrates was “the remedy” to the tyranny present in his day.
